- Right-Click here to download the latest Economagic Windows Excel macro file
- After you have clicked the right mouse button, then Save Target As... and Save this excel file
- Then after it have been saved, choose the option to Open the file.
- In later work sessions, just open the Economagic.xls file to get the Economagic menu within excel.
Overview of Economagic Excel Macro for data from Finance.Yahoo
After you have saved the Economagic.xls file, and opened it, you will see the Economagic menu.To get historical stock market data from Finance.Yahoo, click on Finance Yahoo Data
First type in a stock symbol, for example YHOO, or a stock index symbol, for example ^DJI.
Next tell the macro where you want the data to go.
Click on the far-right icon in the Start data in cell box.
Click on the cell where you want the data to go.
Click on the far-right icon to get back to the form.
Enter a year in the Start Year box,
then click OK.
The data will then appear.
Note the Economagic menu option Update Series. Once a series is dumped to your spreadsheet, a comment is placed with the data. This allows the data to be updated whenever you wish.
